Imrat Khan

Thank you for all the good music it is a very good thing to make available all these precious gems saved over the years.

I am encountering some problems with the first part of Imrat Khans Darbari. Ihave tried many times but it seems it will just leave me in the void! Maybe it is just temporary so I will come back and check later but if there is anyone else experiencing a problem something might be amiss at Mediafire. Anyhow thank you for the good music!

this is the (at least to me! offensive link...

Thanks for your help but it is really strange the problem remains! I must have tried at more than twenty different times but it does not happen. I have asked a friend to see if he can dl the file for me so you don't have to do anything more until I hear from him and it seems to be "my problem" anyhow as it works fine for you. I'll tell you if I am successful in getting the file! Anyhow lots and lots of good music to listen t thanks to you! Very nice blog and great idea to share your more precious recordings and rarities! Much appreciated!

I could download both parts with no problems!

Very nice to see that the Ravi Shankar Music Circle issued recordings by Vilayat’s brother ... what would the fans say on web forums ... :)

Thank you very much for helping out panchamkauns! It was some evil web djinns that were playing with me...
Anyhow finally all is settled and I finally have the recalcitrant part 1!

@Panchamkauns: The Ravi Shankar Music circle cassettes issued music by Ali Akbar Khan (that's pretty normal) but also by Budhaditya Mukerjee, Govind Prasad Jaipurwala and some tablaiyas. And: as far as I now, nothing by the fountainhead. The Jaipurwala cassette has great music but the recording quality is as poor as the quality of the tape. This is by the way a big problem of mine. The cassettes issued in the seventees are rapidly degrading.

Dear Hans,

I know of some other cassettes by The Ravi Shankar Music circle: Manilal Nag live in Kathmandu (which I'm looking for for quite some time, but without any success), Ashish Khan live in Delhi (this one is uploaded in the internet: http://www.mediafire.com/?5u4u5iqmkju61#2,1) and Lalmani Mishra - Vichitra Veena (this one I have in my own collection).

Best greetings
Tawfiq
